Polypropylene Guard Filters for Clear, Bright Beverages
The TrapfilTM filter from Porvair Filtration Group has been specifically developed for the retention of diatomite and polyvinylpolypyrrolidone (PVPP) particles. It is manufactured from materials which are 100% FDA (Food and Drug Administration) approved and fully welded for strength and integrity. The all polypropylene construction enables the TrapfilTM filter to be resistant to hot caustic solution and standard CIP practices. It is also compatible with steam and hot water sanitising procedures.
Designed to be backflushed in situ to remove diatomite and PVPP particles. The TrapfilTM filter has been industry proven to withstand up to 100 backflush cycles with hot caustic solution at 70-80ºC. This backflushing process will regenerate the TrapfilTM filter providing the end user with improved economics.
The TrapfilTM filter is available in a variety of lengths and industry standard adaptors. TrapfilTM cartridges are available in 5, 10 and 15 micron ratings, validated at Beta 5000. Each TrapfilTM filter carries a unique serial number to enable full traceability of material components.

Culinary Steam is used to ensure the sterilisation of filters and process equipment or sanitisation of general equipment. Porvair’s porous stainless steel cartridge filters are suited to culinary steam applications and comply with 3-A Standard 609-01.
Powder Handling of milk powders, raw materials in bakeries and other food powders requires uniform fluidisation and aeration.
Sparging Applications, using Porvair stainless steel elements, designed and manufactured from uniform, fine media to achieve efficient mass transfer of gas into liquid, include N2 injection into emulsifiers and oils, gas introduction and mixing in fermentation, batch hydrogenation applications and carbonation of beverages.
Our products are manufactured under strict quality process controls and are fully validated and technically supported by our qualified scientists and laboratory services. Our polymeric filter cartridges, manufactured from FDA-approved media under clean room conditions, include a wide range of end adaptors to enable easy retrofitting into new or existing competitor housings and all membrane filter cartridges are 100% integrity tested during production.
