Aluminum closures of the type ‘pilfer-proof’ have a wide area of application and differ in dimension. Herti offers closures with a diameter varying from 17 to 43 mm and height from 12 to 60 mm. They are used for sealing bottles with various capacities starting from 50 ml to a gallon (4.54 l).
Usually the aluminum closures are used for bottling spirits. However, closures with the dimensions 31.5×24 and 31.5×44 with Olive Oil pourer liners can also be used for sealing olive oil and closures with 28×15.4 with PVC compound can be used for bottling carbonated drinks.
Lately, screw caps for bottling wines have become more and more popular for quality white wines and also red wines. The advantages of using a screw cap as a wine seal are:
- that they are easy to open and re-seal;
- that they prevent oxidation of the wine in the bottle;
- that they avoid flavor modification and eliminate the threat of a cork taint;
The aluminum caps are classified in:
- Deep drawn
- Extra long
- Wine Closures
Herti has worked out standard and specific lacquers applicable for decoration to all aluminum closures.
The plastic closures and articles have a wide area of application in the bottling of still and carbonated mineral water and juice, as well as in the pharmaceutical industry, olive oil production and the production of other foodstuffs.
