Traditionally used for the processing of beer destined to the keg filling, the Flash Pasteurizer is also essential in those plants where beer is filled in non-pasteurizable containers like Pet and Pen. Notwithstanding, its use in plants for bottles and cans is nowadays increasingly more frequent. The major breweries are turning to the Flash Pasteurizer as it is actually smaller and cheaper than the traditional Tunnel Pasteurizer.

Comac Group has been manufacturing this important and complex process equipment since 1990, when the company was founded.

In the last few years, the management and control software has been improved even further. The esteem and trust received from the most important multinationals for the outstanding performances of its equipments attest Comac Group as a leader company in the field.

Comac’s Flash Pasteurizers consist of a buffer tank, pipes and a stainless steel control cabinet complete with the necessary equipment, a PLC Siemens S7 and an operator panel.

The Flash pasteurizer is used for the processing of beer destined to keg filling. The pasteurization of the product is obtained at 71°C approximately. The product proceeding from the cellar at the storage temperature is heated by means of a first intersection with the beer coming from the heat transfer surface area and then a second intersection with the hot water circulating in the heating zone of the plate heat exchanger. Vice versa, after the pasteurization the hot beer is submitted to a first substantial cooling thanks to the intersection with the cold beer proceeding from the cellar; it finally reaches the ideal storage temperature passing through the cooling area of the plate heat exchanger. Then the beer is sent out to the buffer tank and eventually to the filling machine. Some special cycles have been introduced in order to carry out the cleaning of pipes and buffer tank. The conductivity detector allows the pasteurizer to determine which kind of liquid is flowing through the pipes in real time.

The true heart of the equipment is the management, control and automation program, which requires a higher level of complexity. To maintain a constant PU (Pasteurization Units) value and guarantee the product quality, our technicians have developed advanced algorithms.

The process parameters are filed and sent to the central control unit, so that the product can be traced at any time.
