Beer has been a cultural asset for many millennial, the art of brewing beer has been taught in Weihenstephan since 1865. Since then the markets, in particular, have changed: For many breweries, brewing good beer no longer suffices. Innovative products and technologies are increasing in significance.
Through supplementation with a lot of hands-on training, fundamental natural science and engineering is interlinked with brewing technology and beverage processing engineering in such a manner that our graduates are able to develop and optimize products and processes.
Students are prepared for different activities in the brewing and beverage industry and in the companies that supply it, for example, in the areas of plant engineering or the refining of raw materials. These enterprises have a great demand, nationally and internationally for well trained engineers with brewing technology and process engineering know-how.
