Once a year the water sommelier union offers a so called mineral water savor day. This day is designed for everyone interested in the enjoyment of mineral water and its varied fields of application.
Natural mineral water is one of the world’s most favorite thirst quencher. Apart from the essential need to supply the human body with fluids, savoring mineral water has become more and more important: consumers realize that every mineral water has its own unique taste and buy water brands accordingly. Mineral water connoisseurs even vary their mineral water preference and choose a different water for every situation: the unique diversity offers a specific mineral water which matches perfectly any wine or meal.
The consumer needs experts to explain to them the fascinating and interesting aspects of the sensory diversity and the physiological benefits of the different mineral waters in personal discussions, during consultation or during a mineral water tasting. For this purpose, the Doemens Academy in Munich-Gräfelfing offers a water sommelier course which is unique in the world.
Water sommeliers graduating from the first course, which was held 2011, founded the “water sommelier union”. The union is a communication basis for the graduates of all courses and supports the interests of the water sommeliers, especially concerning the education and the further training. The union also organizes several events staging mineral water: tastings in beverages stores, fair trades, seminars and lectures about the diversity and the physiological benefits of mineral water.
The water sommelier union will be offering tasting sessions of natural mineral water and healing water at their stand on the fair trade BrauBeviale. Furthermore, the members of the union will be at the stand to inform about the water sommelier education and the many activities of the union.
