To introduce hard-to-wet powders into liquids is technically very demanding. This is exactly where the strengths of the Miteco Coaxial Injector® lie. Even with tricky combinations of materials, the injector can eliminate unwanted agglomeration that can be difficult to remove.
The Coaxial Injector is installed upstream of a Radial Jet Mixer® nozzle. The solid material, e.g. crystals like sugar, powders, or granulates, is introduced in the vertical pipe leading to the nozzle in line with the direction of the flow. The immediate benefits are:
- There is virtually no clogging of the solid, which is common to a certain degree with conventional methods of introducing solids in liquids
- Since the flow creates a negative pressure in the Coaxial Injector pipe, and due to the resulting suction vapours and dust are completely used in the process – there is no contamination of the ambient air, even without additional filtering systems, and no raw materials are wasted.
- The pre-wetted material goes directly to the area of maximum turbulence, which means instant dissolving. The process not only shortens the mixing time considerably, but avoids floating of part of the material to the surface or sinking and settling on the bottom of the tank.
- Since there are no moving parts and the design is quite puristic, no maintenance is required, cleaning and sanitisation is easy.
Wetting with the Coaxial Injector® is an ideal pre-mixing process for the Radial Jet Mixer®.
