CDS was born in 1977 as a producer of generic plastic parts. In 1980 Mr. Piero Delfanti enters the company and in 1985 he becomes the sole administrator.
Manufacturing turns to the the segment of «single use» components for the food industry. At the beginning of the ‘90s CDS starts playing an important role in the growing market of screw closures for mineral water. In 1998 CDS opens up a brand new manufacturing plant in Piacenza able to sustain the growing development of the company.
Viroplastic - Beverage Div. is acquired in 2007 and with this acquisition CDS becomes one of the most important players in the Italian market. 2010 is the first record year for CDS Group Srl – Viroplastic Beverage exceeding 3 billion closures.
In March 2013 the Group acquires Viroplastic-CZ in Czech republic increasing his manufacturing capabilities to 6 billion closures/year.
Recent, at the end of 2017, is the acquisition of Manufacturas INPLAST in Aspe Spain bringing the potential of the Group to 14 billion closures per year.
Today the CDS Group counts on 4 manufacturing plants located in Europe, 170 employees and targets sales of 12,5 billion closures in 2018.
