In many processes, particularly in the case of process steam supply, flash steam is produced, which leaks unused into the atmosphere. We have developed a method in which the exhaust vapor is condensed again and used to supply heat consumers. The condensate is simultaneously used for heating and cooling processes. Possible heat consumers are heating stations, warmwater- generation, heating of feed water, absorption chillers etc.
Since 2007 a large-scale plant is installed at the Michelin tire plants in Bad Kreuznach with a condensing capacity of > 6 MW, which has exceeded all expectations. Another plant was commissioned at MRW in Homburg in 2011. In addition to the heat recovery from steam, today also heat from the exhaust gases of the gas turbine power plant and a cogeneration plant and from other plants is obtained. Besides the two absorption chillers, each with 1 MW cooling capacity, a third AKA now will be installed with 2.5 MW cooling capacity.
