With regard to indirect factors influencing container cleaning, such as the quality of empties, label material or types of label glue, the operational concept of a company must always be selected in such a way that there is no material attack on the container and equipment.
However, in many cases, this state is not always feasible due to a high share of third party containers. This means that the previous management of lye solutions only provides unsatisfactory results.
The resulting higher contamination loads have a negative effect on the general condition of the system, maintenance costs and staff deployment times.

Filtration of lye solutions
The filter element consisting of several filter chambers and equipped with differentially pressure resistant precision filter cartridges ensures the effective removal of fibres, labels and pigments.
Integrated into a robust compact housing, all filter elements function as a uniform system with large filter surfaces and high, free cross sections. Depending on the differential pressure, carrying out the filter and backwash function takes place without interrupting the process. The system pressure remains almost constant and the flushing volumes are minimal. As a result, the soiling of the filter never reaches a critical limit.
Depending on the requirement, the filter can be selected in the performance ranges of 4-40 m³/h.
As a supplementary stage to lye filtration, downstream water filtration technology has proved to be a proven effective solution for removing residual particles in the water zones of the bottle washing machine.
If the lye filter primarily fulfils the goal of caring for the plant (up to 65% overall reduction of the NaOH solids) and the resulting advantages which have been described, the use of the water filter aims to remove any residual fibres and microparticles due to carry-over into the hot water zone and as such, it has a direct positive effect on the quality the flushed out bottle.
