The Barcelona Beer Festival encompasses the full meaning of the three words that make up its name. For seven years now, the Catalan capital has been home to the biggest craft beer festival in southern Europe. A three-day event that has become an indispensable annual meeting for not only lovers of craft beer but also for all those professionals with ties to the industry, whether that is producing or distributing this product that is becoming more popular on the emerging Spanish market. This meeting, attended by over 33,000 people at the last edition, has become a tribute and celebration of beer culture, and its hybrid playful and professional format has led to the creation of a fair of exhibitors that has aroused the interest of both types of audiences - the BBF Pro.
The BBF Pro is a fair that harmoniously coexists with the festival and is attended by more than 1500 professionals each year. Its fourth edition will take place in 2019, and there is an expectation that a large percentage of those companies involved last year will once again participate, having decided to stake a place for themselves in this growing market.
In addition, the Barcelona Beer Festival also organizes the Barcelona Beer Challenge, the largest beer competition in the state with more than 1000 beers registered in 2018. Its awards ceremony is one of the festival’s activities and so a great number of brewers spend the three days of the festival not only enjoying good beer but use this time as an opportunity to improve their business networks.
