M&S butterfly valves type SV04 ATEX are hygienic shut-off devices used in potentially explosive atmospheres in the food, beverage, cosmetic, chemical and pharmaceutical industries.
They are type-tested according to directive 2014/34/EU and approved for the inner pipe area zone 0 (gas) and zone 20 (dust) as well as for the outer area zone 1 and zone 21 by constructive measures according to EN ISO 80079-37.

A completely new, patent-pending gasket concept made of PTFE defines new standards in terms of reliability, performance and durability. This innovation meets all hygienic design criteria and exceeds the previous application limits of conventional elastomer gaskets. Whether there are pharmaceutical applications, complex chemical processes or extreme temperatures; this new concept meets the high requirements.
The optimal sliding properties of the PTFE seal minimise wear and extend the service life of the seal. In addition, the seal material prevents deposits and sticking, which significantly reduces cleaning and maintenance efforts and operating downtimes compared to conventional elastomer gaskets.

The M&S-hygienic conversion kits for milk pipe fittings according to DIN 11851 offer an efficient solution to optimise retroactively conventional milk pipe fittings which already in use into hygienic connections quickly and effectively. This innovative and cost-effective alternative to pipe fittings as per DIN 11864 / DIN 11853 combines a metallic centring ring with a specially matched M&S-gasket with collar. The M&S-hygienic conversion kit ensures precise, offset-free alignment within the pipe system and also creates a defined pretension of the gasket through its stop function. A flush, hygienic and reliable gasket with the characteristics of a pipe fitting according to DIN 11864 / DIN 11853 is thereby guaranteed. The Fraunhofer Institute has proven and confirmed the outstanding cleaning ability through special cleaning tests.

LoTo (Lockout-Tagout) measures are part of occupational health and safety and are used for safety during maintenance work or commissioning of process engineering systems.
M&S LoTo maintenance safety devices are adaptation options for M&S butterfly or ball valves that protect against unauthorised access or unintentional switch-on. These safety devices mechanically block the rotary movement of the valve flap and can additionally be locked by a padlock.
