The BFBi was founded as the Allied Brewery Traders’ Association in 1907. Its members are companies trading with the brewing, food and beverage industry in the supply of raw materials, products and services. Apart from the main purpose of such associations (to act together in the promotion of common interests), BFBi’s links with the brewing industry include common committees with the British Beer & Pub Association and the Society of Independent Brewers.

Organiser of conferences, trade fairs, including BevExpo 2021 and the International Brewing & Cider Awards 2021 – started in 1886, the oldest international brewing and cider competition in the world.
