By employing the IPC membrane technology Pantarein Water can provide the most compact Membrane BioReactor (MBR) system to date in a containerised setup. The membranes are installed inside a custom made filtration compartment while all equipment and instrumentation is installed inside a 20 ft technical container. An MBR filtration unit with a hydraulic capacity of 50 m³/h only requires a footprint of 38 m². Furthermore, the compactness is combined with energy efficiency (0,4 to 0,5 kWh/m³) and a high degree of automation.
This allows easy integration of the MBR unit in an existing wastewater treatment plant to improve the effluent quality or to increase its capacity.
In addition, the performant MBR system can be easily combined with a containerized reverse osmosis (RO) system which allows to produce process water with an excellent quality (drinking water standard). The RO filtration system is also fully automated and like the MBR system it employs several smart measurements to monitor and control the process.
Stable operation is maintained through regular, automated (chemical) cleaning of the membranes. Furthermore, due to the specific design of the MBR system, 88% of the hydraulic capacity will remain active even during a (chemical) cleaning implying that the cleaning of the MBR system has no impact on the operation of the RO system.
The containerized design and small footprint allow for a smooth integration into existing plants offering an easy road to the implementation of water reuse.
Pantarein Water has numerous references in the food and beverage industry providing us with the required knowhow with regard to design and operation of these units.
